The Umbwe Route is a very scenic route, though one of the least used. Your nights on the Umbwe route are spent in high-quality 3-man alpine tents’ sleeping a maximum of two persons per tent (carried by the porters).

| 2 | Climb briefing. Transfer to park gate. Hike to Umbwe caves campsite. (Approx 5 hours)

| 4 | From Barranco to Karanga Valley. (Approx 4-5 hours) Altitudes vary today between 3500m - 4200m.
